Whether you’ve invested a little or a lot in your branding, you’ll want to show it off. We appreciate that here at Gaggle Mail, which is why we’ve recently made it possible for you to apply your own brand colors to your Gaggle Mail groups, emails, and homepage.
Why is branding so important?
Branding communicates who you are and what you stand for, while bringing everyone together under one banner. And when you’re using Gaggle Mail to stay in touch with your employees, students, or peers, then that sense of community can’t be undervalued.
Yes, Gaggle Mail has supported the use of custom logos for some time now. But in this recent update we’re taking things a step further: applying custom colors. Because, as the saying goes, your brand is so much more than a logo.
Colors in particular are a huge part of branding. Your brand palette portrays your personality, and keeping a consistent and coherent color scheme across everything you do is key to building trust and authority.
So, now that there’s no doubt around why this Gaggle Mail update is important, let’s take a look at how you can get started…
How to apply your own branding to Gaggle Mail groups, emails, and homepage
As a Gaggle Mail group owner, you can now use your organization’s logo and your own color scheme on every mail you send, as well as creating a dedicated homepage for your group.
Step 1: Add your logo (if you haven’t already)
The first step is to head to the Design section. Here, you’ll find the Group Logo option, where you can upload your organization’s logo.
This will automatically add your logo to all group management pages, individual member’s pages, and all member Digest and Moderation emails.
Step 2: Choose your color scheme
You can choose a color scheme for your group in the Design section, too. Top tip: base the Gaggle Mail color scheme on your organization’s logo — ensuring complete brand consistency!
Your color scheme will be automatically applied across all pages and emails.
Step 3: The finishing touches
Happy with what you’ve created so far? Gaggle Mail has a few more tricks up its sleeve to elevate your brand.
For one, you can set your logo to appear in the footer of all messages sent via your group by going to the Custom Footer section and applying the correct settings. You can also set a logo at an organizational level — automatically using it for every group within your organization. This is done quickly and easily via the Customize section of your Organization settings.
Lastly, you may choose to set up a custom, branded Gaggle Mail homepage for your organization. This combines your logo, color scheme and brand name together. Your name will feature in the domain — e.g. https://mybrandname.gaggle.email — and there’s even a ‘description’ field, where you can share your mission and values.
And when it comes to building a community around your brand, it doesn’t get better than that!
